Different amounts of white at Norwegian Forest Cats
We have a new EMS code to use from January 2005 for different amounts of
white.
The "wegies" were former registred with the EMS code 09, any amount of white.
But now are they registred with the EMS codes 01, 02, 03 and 09 for different
amounts of white. The code 09 is still used for the traditional
amounts of white, for instance white nose, white chest and whie paws. But now we
also use these codes:
01 for van, 02 for harlequin and 03 for bicolour. What should a
perfectly van (01) look like?
- 2 coloured spots in the face, seperated with a stripe
- Coloured tail
- No white hair in the coloured spots
- 3 small coloured spots over the body or legs is accepted
- Chest and belly must be white
- White ears that are light red inside desirable
- The tabby van cata is registred withe the code 21, regardless tabby
pattern
What shuld a perfectly harlequin (02) look like?
- De coloured parts should be at least 25% and not more than 50% of the
fur
- De coloured parts chould preferably be spots surrounded with white
- De färgade områdena ska helst bestå utav färgfläckar helt omgivet av
vitt.
- No white hair in the coloured parts
- The tabby van cata is registred withe the code 21, regardless tabby
pattern
What should a perfectly bicolur (03) look like?
- De coloured parts of the fur should be isolated from each other,
similar in colour and harmonic divided.
- De coloured part should be at least 50% and not more than 75% of the
fur
- It is desirable with a white stripe on the head. It is desirable with
a white spot on the back. White at legs, chest, head and belly. No white
hair in the coloured parts
